Mrs. Joe Speed Dies In Corpus Rites At Kerens

Funeral services for Mrs. Joe Speed of Corpus Christi will be held at 4 p. m. Saturday in the Kerens Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Goff, Corsicana. officiating. Burial will be in the Kerens cemetery. The Stockton funeral home will direct, Mrs. Speed died Thursday from injuries suffered about a week ago while employed in a Corpus Christi hospital. Mrs. Speed was a native of Frost but had lived in Kerens for about 25 years since her marriage to the late Joe Speed. She moved to Corpus Christi about five years ago. Survivors are two sons, Joe Walter, Corpus Christi, and Monroe, Midland; her mother, Mrs., Lucy Sheppard, Frost; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Hampton. Corsicana; Mrs. Lillian Yates, White Plains, N. Y. arid Mrs. Agnes Cherry, Fort Worth; three brothers, Freddie Sheppard, Dallas, and Abner and Preston Sheppard, both of Frost.
